August Newsletter

In front of Berklee College of Music, Boston.

7 August 2013

Hello hello, friends!

I am writing to you from my brand new ultra comfy bed in Boston. We spent four days on the road from Houston. It's lovely here but it was 36C in Texas when we left, that was fun haha. Hope you guys in England are doing okay in this heatwave!

I think it's about time we started these monthly emails properly. My aim is to provide you with a quick, one-stop recap of the latest news and musings in Adrienne Land, so starting now there will be links to all of the videos made in the month, any releases, and perhaps a little something extra as a thank you for being lovely and joining this mailing list so early on in our journey :)

It's gonna be a long one this month. I promise less of an information overload next time. It's just been crazy here! So, without further ado...

I've moved to America! We were in Houston for three weeks until last Monday, waiting for our new flat here in Boston to be ready. It's really weird having so much time off from gigs. I haven't been able to work on demos too much either since the studio is all packed up in a shipping container somewhere in New York, but I hear all of that will be here by the end of the week. Exciting timesit will be so good to be reunited with my keyboard and guitars<3 and then on to bigger and more epic music!

Come September I'll be attending Berklee College of Music on a full academic scholarship sponsored by the Lollapalooza rock festival. This is a dream come true, and I am so grateful for this amazing opportunity. Classes start in September--I CANNOT WAIT!!! I'm sort of torn between studying Film Scoring or Contemporary Writing & Production, but that aside I've heard they have some awesome extracurricular stuff including the Metal Ensemble and Archery.

This move, of course, marks the end of my 6 year stay living abroad. It's been an incredible and life-changing experience, I've been so fortunate to have met some amazing friends and very talented musicians. It's a sad thing to leave them, but y'know... We like to think of it as goodbye for now :)

Riot Underground have disbanded, and we've all got new projects we're working on: Matt has plans for a groove rock band with some of our mutual friends (and a face you might recognize!), Henry is honing his production skills as well as working on some original material, and last I heard from Rob was he's guitaring in a metal band.

Hollywood Trash (now known as Bitter Trash) re-branded as a 3 piece.

And we hit a lovely milestone on Facebook a few weeks ago: 400 followers! Thank you thank you thank you so much. Your support means the world to me x

Meanwhile I'm listening to the Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Special Orchestra CD... It's good hahah :')

Hope you're enjoying your summer and I will see you laaaater!
Adrienne
